Our Journey - The Older Adult Mental Health Service Monash Health's Older Adult Mental Health provides services of assessment and treatment for people generally over the age of 65 years, who have a psychiatric disability and/or Neurocognitive Disorder with associated Behaviours of Concern (Bo C) requiring treatment.
The Older Adult Mental Health Service also has strong relationships with the Residential Aged Care Services, providing mental health services to the three Psychogeriatric Nursing Homes (PGNH): Allambee The Older Adult Mental Health Service has two main sites, one in Kingston and the other in Endeavour Hills.
This position is situated in the Kingston site, a great location if you are living close to the CBD or in the South East Sector.
About the PGNH In-Reach Team The Monash Health Residential Aged Care Service is comprised of five residential aged care facilities, amongst these residential care facilities are three facilities that are designated 'psychogeriatric' and receive funding from the Mental Health Branch of the Victorian Department of Health.
These three residential facilities are the key population group targeted by the PGNH In-Reach Team, the facilities are as follows: Chestnut Gardens - The Avenue Allambee Nursing Home The PGNH In-Reach team provides a multidisciplinary team approach to mental health consumers residing in one of Monash Health's three PGNH facilities ensuring residents receive ongoing mental health and behavioural management.
The In-Reach service oversees complex mental health specialised treatment as well as assisting the facility staff in effectively managing behaviours of concern.
About You You are an energetic and determined Neuropsychologist, either already working as a P3 or a highly experienced P2 ready to take the next step in your career.
You communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
Your ideas to improve service delivery through research and Quality Improvement Activities are always welcomed.
As a dedicated neuropsychologist in public health, you care about patients and deliver quality psychological services.
Your track record includes demonstrated success in the following areas: Assist the Multidisciplinary Team in diagnosing and addressing consumers with issues related to cognition and decision making.
Contribute to behaviour management and treatment planning in conjunction with the Multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders.
Engagement in quality processes of continuous improvement and research initiatives.
What you need: Hold current general registration as a psychologist and endorsement in Neuropsychology through AHPRA.
Hold supervisor endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) for Higher Degree programs and Registrar Supervision (primary and secondary) or working towards the same.
Working with Children's Check and Police Check.
Clinical experience in mental health services.
