Ventia's Defence Base Services (DBS) team are seeking an engaging and supportive Operational Services Manager based at RAAF Base Williams - Laverton. Reporting directly into the Estate Maintenance & Operational Sites (EMOS) Manager, this role will see you responsible for the direct management of the Operational Services Activities for Hospitality & Catering, Domestic Services, Sport & Recreation, Grounds, and Transport/POL Service Lines. You also have responsibility to ensure contract obligations are met in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and provide leadership and management to ensure that all resources are utilised to maximise financial outcomes for the contract, whilst maintaining good relationships with clients and meeting required levels of service and contractual obligations. Key duties, but not limited to: Provide a high level of customer service to Defence Base Services Supervisors and Defence uniformed customers. Management of the Profit and Loss for Operational Services business area. Ensuring Operational Services are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. Manage staff rosters and levels to make sure service delivery standards are met and productivity of the workforce is managed to a high standard. Coordinate joint activities and services for the Base, so that all work is performed cohesively and with a common, integrated service delivery goal. Assisting, directing and controlling the Operational Services participation in surge activities such as major exercises and disaster support. Work with and support relevant stakeholders as necessary. In conjunction with the EMOS Manager, manage, lead and take responsibility for all HSE, Financial, Commercial, Recruitment and HR, Business Improvement and Contract Performance Management activities and issues on Base in support of Operational service lines. Ensure that all training, licensing and certification requirements for Operational Services staff are managed effectively. Proactively manage any HR related matters in consultation with the EMOS Manager and HR Support teams. Foster a team culture that is focused on productivity, efficiency and high standards of customer service. Experience & Skills: Tertiary Qualification in Business Management or equivalent professional experience. A high level of demonstrated management and organizational skills. Demonstrated experience in working within a high pressure, collaborative and consultative work environment. Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a high performing member of a team. Demonstrated written communication and IT skills. An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders. You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and Medical Pre-Employment Checks as required by the contract.
