The Opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Operations Cost Accountant to join the Finance Team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller- Supply chain, you will be accountable for ensuring efficient and effective analytical support for manufacturing operations relevant to operations accounting requirements, new product development, month end processes, and budget/forecasting processes.
In addition, you will be ready to challenge the status quo and look for opportunities to add value by improving the way we work to achieve our goals, work with others, and contribute to the success of the Operational environment within SPC & Kuisine.
Key Responsibilities: Establish and maintain relationships with the Operations Team to ensure that timely Factory performance reports are compiled, reviewed and actions taken regarding improvements.
Continually review factory performance (with the Finance Manager) with well researched and considered analysis seeking continuous improvement in order to challenge providers to optimize outcomes.
Assist the Finance Manager with overseeing the development of new product costs for the SPC portfolio, supporting key stage gate decisions through the provision of accurate cost information and insights.
In conjunction with the Finance Manager, support and influence key operational and strategic decisions by providing advice on cost assumptions, highlighting risks and opportunities for the SPC product portfolio.
Utilise outputs from Kuisine product analysis to conduct extensive operational analysis to assist in reducing variances between standards and actuals.
At the direction of the Finance Manager, collaborate with key stakeholders to drive the Kuisine business planning process and produce: Annual budgets (update BOMs, Labour Routes and other Standard Cost inputs) Quarterly forecasts and, Monthly performance reports relative to the operations costing functions.
Support the continuous analysis of operations cost drivers of various Kuisine product categories to support the growth strategies of the SPC & Kuisine businesses.
Assist the SPC Finance Team to work effectively with business leaders in identifying and improving operations costing/commercial acumen.
Provide proactive training as well as coaching to all key stakeholders identified.
Be an active member within any allocated SPC category teams, ensuring collaboration between team members allowing SPC & Kuisine to deliver upon its strategy.
Perform Weekly/ Monthly reporting on: Labour Yield Material Usage variance Any Ad hoc reporting required.
The successful candidate will have: Intermediate knowledge and understanding of Plant Cost Accounting, with 1-3 years of relevant experience, ideally in an FMCG environment.
Intermediate understanding of Factory/Plant accounting principles and cost driver analytics, with experience in using a diverse range of methods and tools.
Advanced analytical thinking capability with proficient data management/excel skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively influence business outcomes to realise organisational benefits.
Cross Functional experience working across Supply Chain, Commercial and Sales & Marketing functions is preferred.
Advanced Excel Modelling and Data Analysis skills.
Experience in ERPs - D365 is preferred.
Excellent analytical and numeracy skills as well as an ability to assess problems and provide solutions.
Accuracy and excellent attention to detail and strong written and oral communication skills.
