Physiotherapy, OT & Rehabilitation (Healthcare & Medical) Full time Full Time permanent Grade 3 Physiotherapist Position to start in December 2024 Austin Health is a major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the North East of Melbourne and state-wide.

About the Physiotherapy Department: The Physiotherapy Department is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients.
In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice.
The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the role: This role offers a great opportunity to work as a leader in the Physiotherapy sub-acute aged care stream.
As a Physiotherapist working in the Austin Health Physiotherapy department, you will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team and wider physiotherapy department to provide safe, effective, patient centred care.
A regular day will see you: Provide excellent, patient centered, evidence based clinical care to acute and subacute Aged Care inpatients including functional prognostication and complex discharge planning Work with the multi-disciplinary team to support effective and efficient team shared decision making for care planning and discharge planning Initiate and provide teaching/clinical guidance to other members of the department utilizing expertise through, for example, direct teaching, team meetings and continuing education forum You'll join a friendly and supportive team who genuinely enjoys their work and the contribution they make.
About you: Someone who is passionate about providing exceptional care to older adults in a sub-acute care setting.
A high level of interpersonal skills that promote teamwork and a proven ability to relate to people at all levels within an organization.
Demonstrated history of, and commitment to ongoing professional development and specialisation within the area of Gerontology Physiotherapy.
You'll further have the: Ability to build and lead a dynamic team which works effectively within a multidisciplinary environment Experience in leading/supporting the professional development and growth of Grade 1 and 2 staff Opportunity to function as a senior clinician in the aged care stream, including direct provision of patient care Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
