5 year FIXED-TERM part-time (0.2 FTE 1 day per week) position with an attractive remuneration package We are seeking to appoint a Professor of Practice in Educational Leadership Offering a competitive remuneration package including 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Sydney School of Education and Social Work manages successful funded partnerships with local schools and communities, state and federal government departments, through to international scholarly collaborations on global standards of education and social policy.

A Professor of Practice brings their extensive professional experience to the University and actively contributes to the furthering of the profession through their engagement with collaborators, students and the broader community.
A Professor of Practice contributes to the leadership and strategic direction of the University by participating in collegial governance and decision-making and fosters a culture of excellence through guiding academic staff and students towards success.
A Professor of Practice maintains their reputation by actively contributing to innovation in the profession, scholarship relating to the profession, academic debate and policy development within the University and beyond.
About you (skills, capabilities and experience) Professional qualifications appropriate to the discipline and significant experience as a leader within the profession.
An international reputation as a leading authority in the profession.
Demonstrated success in integrating and applying complex theoretical concepts to advance professional practice.
A wide network of established relationships with key industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the discipline, School/ Faculty and University.
Significant experience in people leadership and management, including demonstrated excellence in supervising and/or mentoring others to success.
An understanding of the key strategic issues in the higher education sector related to initial teacher education.
Term and remuneration This position is 5 years fixed-term part-time position offering 0.2 FTE (1 day per week).
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
This position is designated as involving child-related work.
To undertake or remain in this position, you are required to apply for and obtain a Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This role requires valid work rights for Australia.
Pre-employment checks Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements.
If you do not meet these conditions, the University may take any necessary step, including the termination of your employment.
