About the Role
Program Director – Planning is a key leadership position that sits within the Data & Digital Delivery branch responsible for orchestrating digital technology and data projects. The primary focus is to ensure the seamless delivery of initiatives on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational objectives, tailored to evolving customer and stakeholder needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing effective direction to high-performing teams comprising project managers, technical specialists, vendors and support staff. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of technology projects, emphasizing seamless integration and flawless execution within the dynamic landscape of a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of multiple technology projects, ensuring integration and execution within a complex enterprise.
Manage programs to meet deadlines and budgets, develop plans, implement governance, allocate resources, and handle reporting according to recognized project management methodologies.
Utilize expert delivery frameworks and governance processes to oversee successful project outcomes.
Conduct continuous monitoring and evaluation to manage risks and assess impact, including regular project reviews and audits.
Engage stakeholders to align with business needs and communicate program goals and achievements effectively.
Enhance team performance, promote diversity, and provide high-level advice to support departmental objectives.
Contribute to organizational and governmental reforms, driving efficiency and alignment with strategic priorities.
Qualifications and Role Specific Requirements
Mandatory
Project Management Certification (e.g., Prince2 / PMBok) or Agile Certification.
Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in traditional project management and agile delivery, or a relevant business discipline.
Demonstrated experience (at least 7 years) managing complex and diverse data and digital programs in a government or large private sector organization.
Experience relevant to the accountabilities and capabilities of the role.
Desirable
Experience in technology, data and/or customer-facing digital channel delivery.
