Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Development Manager to join their dynamic team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and delivery of solar and BESS projects from inception through to construction and operation.
Key Responsibilities Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end development of solar and BESS projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
Feasibility Studies: Conduct comprehensive site assessments, resource analysis, and financial modelling to evaluate project viability.
Permitting and Approvals: Navigate planning and permitting processes, ensuring all regulatory approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local communities, regulatory authorities, and other key stakeholders.
Land Agreements: Negotiate and secure land lease or purchase agreements with landowners, ensuring optimal site acquisition.
Project Design: Collaborate with technical teams to optimise project design, layout, and technology selection for maximum efficiency and performance.
Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled.
Schedule Management: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely progress and milestone achievement.
Risk Management: Identify project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Contract Management: Oversee procurement activities, negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors, and manage ongoing vendor relationships.
Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as industry standards.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, risks, and performance metrics.
Funding Applications: Prepare and submit applications for government grants, incentives, and other funding opportunities.
Construction Oversight: Work closely with construction teams to ensure projects are built according to specifications, on time, and within budget.
Handover: Ensure seamless transition of completed projects to the operations team for ongoing management and optimisation.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of best practices and processes within the project development team.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, environmental science, or a related field Proven experience in project development and management within the renewable energy sector Demonstrated experience delivering grid-connected renewable energy assets in Australia (non-negotiable) Strong understanding of the Australian renewable energy market and regulatory environment Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Proficiency in project management software and tools Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Current Australian working rights (no sponsorship offered for this position) Benefits: Attractive Benefits Package: Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses.
