Project Engineer Join our team to lead and participate in Civil and Track engineering projects across Victoria, ensuring safety and compliance with V/Line standards.
About the role As a Project Engineer with our Project Delivery team, you will manage and execute engineering and project activities, including technology development, design solutions, and engineering investigations.
You will ensure that all works on the V/Line network are conducted safely and according to approved designs and standards.
Key accountabilities: Derive project scope and requirements.
Manage contracts and contractors.
Develop specifications and work instructions.
Define and implement engineering solutions.
Integrate systems and design solutions.
Provide technical expertise for engineering issues.
Maintain rail infrastructure standards and plans.
Review design submissions and applications for network access.
Achieve financial, operational, and performance targets.
Mentor and coach V/Line Graduates.
Site visits & travel requirements This role requires travel to sites throughout regional Victoria, offering a great opportunity to explore our beautiful state.
There may be some evenings, weekends, overnight stays, and overtime, with reimbursements for travel-related meals and accommodation.
A valid Driver Licence is essential, and a tool of trade vehicle will be provided.
The ability to undertake solo journeys and work autonomously is crucial.
About you Professional requirements: Essential: Bachelor of Engineering, preferably in Civil.
Accreditation with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), or willingness to obtain.
Preferably a minimum of 3 years project delivery experience.
Rail-specific: Experience in Rail, Track, Civil, or Structures.
Level 1 Track Safety Awareness training or willingness to obtain.
Knowledge of V/Line and Victorian Railway operations.
Understanding of rolling stock build and maintenance regimes.
Skills & attributes: Proven ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and travel statewide.

The salary for this role is in the range $117,500 (including a base annual salary of $105,381 and superannuation of $12,119) to $147,000 (base salary $131,839, superannuation of $15,161).
Benefits include 4 weeks annual leave, superannuation, and free myki for metro and regional travel.
