About the role The Project Officer will provide project management services to support the delivery of Work Safe's strategy, following the agreed project management framework.
The Project Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of one or more projects, whether they are stand-alone or within a program structure.
The Project Officer will be responsible for project support associated with the review and development of new or amended legislation, regulations, codes of practice and the implementation of business & IT solutions emanating from legislative or regulatory reforms.
Key accountabilities: Providing project management support through effective planning, and delivery of critical project activities in the project.
Supporting internal project status meetings with staff and Senior Management, for the purpose of tracking, refining and supporting teams to produce deliverables to scheduled project timelines and project plans including addressing resource, communication, quality control, stakeholder engagement or consultation timeframes, communication and implementation requirements.
Building and maintaining internal and external relationships enabling you to influence Work Safe employees and external stakeholders to undertake activities and to achieve appropriate outcomes to ensure projects are delivered within timeframes.
Undertaking impact assessments of potential legislative change on business processes and operational materials including IT systems by using your project expertise and strong communication skills.
Monitoring progress against project plans and schedules, ensuring the timely escalation of any risks or issues impacting on project scopes, plans, or schedules.
About you You are experienced in working in a project management environment with previous experience in similar type roles.
Your written and verbal communication skills are excellent and you have the ability to explain complex concepts in an articulate manner.
You have a passion for supporting and influencing, using your exceptional interpersonal skills.
You are a team-oriented person who enjoys delivering and making an impact on your team and stakeholders.
Further, you will also possess: A knowledge and exposure to Project lifecycle experience understanding the planning and delivery of projects in their entirety including potential experience in PRINCE2, PMBOK, Waterfall or Agile delivery methodologies.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with a broad range of diverse stakeholders, including leadership audience engagement, to successfully deliver business projects.
Demonstrated experience in supporting medium to large complexity projects and to support the implementation of changes emanating from project activities.
Experience in legislative and regulatory reform and the government sector, highly regarded.
Ability to scope, manage and identify activities to develop and maintain impact assessments and project plans to schedule and budget.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications desired, and or relevant business experience.
Accreditation in PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile or related project methodology disciplines is highly desired.
