Occupation: Asset Management and Planning Reference: VG/VSBA2001322620009577 Two Project Officer opportunities exist for the right candidates to join the Sustainability and Environment Unit (SEU) under a fixed term full-time position until 30 June 2026.
Project Officers within SEU work collaboratively with SEU Manager, Senior Program Managers and team to support on fulfilling the unit outcomes.

About the Role The Sustainability and Environment Unit (SEU) operates as part of the Asset Management Branch and is charged with implementing VSBA's Greener Government School Buildings program, Solar Inspections program, and Environmental Program across Government schools.
The Project Officer role in the SEU is required to have a high degree of autonomy, be self-motivated and driven to provide support on a wide range of services, producing results through collaboration with others, including business-related functions covering human resources, data analysis, reporting, support for organisational improvement processes and initiatives, provision of project support, planning and stakeholder engagement within the broad Department, as well as with external sector partners.
The key accountabilities for the Project Officer are to: display VPS values while delivering great quality outcomes for clients and understanding stakeholder's underlying needs, analyse data and complex concepts, applied to identification of issues and development of workable solutions to drive decision-making processes and actions, demonstrate resilience to change, with an ability to manage emerging priorities and set high standards in own work performance, exercise active willingness to learn, as well as solid spoken and written communication skills in written products, such as correspondence, plans, reports and briefings, work comfortably within a team environment, contributing to continuous improvements for delivery through automation and process improvement.
Attributes The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of dashboard reporting, data analysis and administration practices along with strong communication skills, with proven project support experience, preferably relating to supporting delivery of complex projects, such as energy efficiency infrastructure projects and environmentally resilient build spaces.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Business/Information Technology/Architecture/Environment Science/Engineering or related areas.
Desirable: considerable/demonstrated experience on similar role within government.
