Catholic Education Office Diocese of Ballarat – Mildura VIC Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education Limited (DOBCEL) is a company limited by guarantee, created to govern 57 schools located across Western Victoria.
DOBCEL and its administrative arm, Catholic Education Ballarat (CEB), work together to support the leadership of all Catholic Primary and Secondary schools, to promote Catholic identity, to deliver quality learning, provide effective stewardship and nurture respectful and trusting relationships with the community.
About the Role This Part Time (0.6 FTE) Ongoing position presents the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary manner in a variety of educational settings alongside highly motivated colleagues from the Educational Services Team.
There is potential for this FTE to be increased.
The Psychologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team focusing on students who are disengaged, or at risk of disengaging with their education.
This role will act as a resource to support the Students, Staff and Parents.
The Psychologists Team at CEB combines working onsite in schools with online consultations.
Travel is supported by access to a pool car and IT equipment is provided.
Key Responsibilities include: Primary Intervention Fostering effective organisational processes that encourage a whole-school approach to educational programs, student wellbeing and behaviour management; Assist teachers to implement effective student behavioral, learning & inclusive practices.
Early Intervention Facilitate targeted classroom and group programs to minimise the impact of identified risk factors for students, e.g.
social skills training, anger management, etc; Be a resource for teachers dealing with students who have been identified as 'at risk' of developing learning, social, behavioural and emotional difficulties.
Intervention Observe students in the teaching environment in order to identify barriers preventing learning, help identify appropriate intervention strategies, and then evaluate the efficacy of the interventions.
