Great Opportunity based in Rowville (Victoria) Highly Skilled and Engaging Team Environment Competitive Remuneration About our role: The R&D Sensory Specialist will be accountable for providing leadership and specialized knowledge in sensory problem resolution, method development, and project implementation to support the company in innovation, renovation, and cost improvements projects.
Responsibilities include: Lead the planning and execution of multifaceted sensory analyses in the development of new products, packaging, and product renovations, with technical support from Lactalis Australia sensory community of practice according to Lactalis global guidelines.
Effectively lead multiple projects by utilizing specialist sensory skills to design compelling research/validation plans; determine appropriate sensory testing methodologies; co-ordinate and execute tests, analysis, and interpretation of experimental data.
Work closely with R&D Product developers, Market Research, and Marketing teams to define desired outcomes and best methodology in preparation for product validation testing.
Build and lead internal tasting panels, conduct training, design tests, conduct analyses, and report findings; contribute to defining sensory specifications and standards for existing products and products under development.
Provide advice, coaching, and support to various team members on performing sensory analysis on their projects.
Provide technical recommendations and deliver results with written reports and presentations.
Maintain a leading knowledge of developments in sensory science and develop own technical expertise in sensory science and sensory statistics as per Lactalis global guidelines.
About you: Master's degree in Food Science/Food Technology/Sensory science or equivalent.
Five (5) to eight (8) years' experience in sensory science/consumer science.
Knowledge of dairy products and their functionality preferred.
Expertise in a broad range of sensory techniques, advanced Excel (XLSTAT Sensory Add-In), and proficiency in the application of basic principles of Science and statistical analysis.
