The Role: We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team of foodies. This senior position reports directly to the Managing Director. We are looking for a person who: is passionate about food and food quality. is driven to continually improve the processes and quality standards for the company. is capable and thorough with technical documentation. is skilled in liaising with suppliers and customers. has knowledge of industry standards. The role will be based at our Scoresby site, with infrequent travel to other sites. Key Responsibilities: Manages a small team of Quality Assurance, Quality Control and NPD areas. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Develop, implement, and coordinate product quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Ensure compliance with legislated and customer requirements, BRC/ SQF and HACCP based quality control programs. Liaise with customers' Quality departments and any Local and National Food safety bodies. Maintain, review, and control all QA documentation. Be a site champion for quality to promote a food safety culture, ensure product authenticity and integrity is maintained. Maintain and update a documented policy which states the site's intention to meet its obligation to produce safe, legal, and authentic products to the specified quality, and its responsibility to its customers. Develop a full description for each product or group of products which includes all relevant information on food safety. Analyze, evaluate, and present information concerning factors relating to quality defects, manufacturing problems, product analysis (micro, chemical and nutritional), and design and development of new products to other members of management team. Suggest alternative methods and procedures from a food safety perspective about solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities. Cooperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and quality goals. Develops initial and subsequent modifications of product assurance program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within program. Evaluate reports from product assurance program and confers with senior Manager to formulating fiscal budget for product assurance program. Conducts/ participates in management meetings with to establish, delineate, and review product quality assurance program, to coordinate changes in operational procedures where required and establish responsibilities and procedures for maintaining quality accreditation. Reviews quality problems and procedures in manufacturing, dispatch and maintenance departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures. Visits and talks to representatives of ingredient suppliers to ensure compliance with the Approved Supplier Program. Where required, consults with engineers and contractors regarding quality assurance of products, equipment design and compliance with site quality assurance standards and procedures. Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Qualifications / Skills: Leading people/ management of change. Bachelor's degree or higher qualification. At least 15 years related industry experience and expertise. HACCP training. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. #J-18808-Ljbffr
