Georges River Council have a fantastic opportunity for a Security and Emergency Management Officer to join their team based in Carlton. About The Role As the Security and Emergency Management Officer you will provide management of Council's security operations including alarms, CCTV, keys and locks, swipe card control, after-hours callouts and security services contract management when required. This position will be the Deputy Local Emergency Management Officer (DLEMO) and provide executive support to the Local Emergency Management Officer (LEMO) to facilitate the effective operations of the Local Emergency Management Committee. Responsibilities include: Development, implementation, administration and maintenance of security management systems, including the security incident database Analyse and interpret legislation, including the Security Act to ensure Council's compliance is kept up to date Conduct strategic assessments of security risks across Council and prioritisation of tasks to mitigate risk Project management of security projects including the implementation of system upgrades, access controls and other continuous improvement programs Respond to requests for assistance from other government agencies in dealing with security risks and incidents which impact Council's assets Raise security awareness across all divisions of Council to ensure a consistent approach to security related matters Develop policies, procedures and guidelines for the implementation of security strategies and programs Maintain and conduct audits of Council's keys/contacts register Manage the reception sign in/out areas for staff, councillors, contractors and other visitors when visiting Council premises What We Offer: Permanent, Full Time - 70 hours per fortnight Salary from $94,961.99 - $110,025.72 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation (dependant on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate) 9-day fortnight subject to operational requirements Health and Wellbeing paid leave Fitness Passport Program offering discounted membership for you and your family to selected facilities Employee Assistance Program Salary Packaging Options Sponsored Study Program Parental Leave and Support Employee Rewards Program The successful candidate will have: Licence – Security and Risk Management, or commensurate experience to the licence requirements and preparedness to undertake the qualification within 3 months of appointment Drivers Licence Class C or above Experience working in an emergency management role Highly effective communication, community consultation and stakeholder engagement skills Proven experience in the delivery of organisational projects Minimum 3 years experience in the security industry Demonstrated knowledge of the Security Industries Act and Regulations Clear and concise oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to use various software packages, including Microsoft Office Demonstrated experience in managing contracts Demonstrated experience in managing projects Desirable: Asset Management knowledge and experience GIS experience Experience in placemaking Project management certification If you have made a positive commitment to further your career and you possess the attributes located in the Position Description essential criteria, then please submit your application today.
