Senior Advisor, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement - Suburban Connect Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling including CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction delivering the Tunnels South package on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East, on behalf of Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).
We have a broad range of roles available to build our diverse and inclusive workforce, including construction and engineering, planning and environmental management, corporate support, administration, communications and many others.
SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is now under construction, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains to be running by 2035.
Primary Purpose of the position To contribute to Suburban Connect by providing comprehensive knowledge and support on communications, community relations and stakeholder relations.
The key responsibilities of the role include: Develop and implement the Communications, Stakeholder Relations and Community Relations strategy for the project.
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate construction impacts and to effectively respond to feedback and concerns.
Identify and manage issues and risks pertaining to the project and escalate issues and risks to the Communications and Engagement Manager.
Manage responses to all project related inquiries.
Attend stakeholder meetings as required, including Community Reference Groups (CRG).
Liaise with construction team, community and key stakeholders to respond to project 24/7 1800 number queries and effectively manage engagement.
Manage respite and reallocation for residents.
Liaise with the construction team to ensure community and stakeholders are notified in advance of works in accordance with the Community Relations strategy.
Plan and manage contact with external stakeholders in a way that enhances the reputation of Suburban Connect and organisation partners.
Develop and communicate community and stakeholder awareness and risk minimisation programs across the Project through inductions and toolbox presentations.
Monitor effectiveness of community and stakeholder engagement activities.
Input communications and stakeholder activities into Consultation Manager and project reporting cycles.
The ideal candidate will possess: Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) or certificate or relevant experience (Disciplines relevant to function area, e.g.
public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, marketing).
5+ years' experience in communications & stakeholder management for major infrastructure projects.
Experience in leading project or specialist function activities.
Relevant experience gained within major organisations - relevant sector, government or consultancy.
