About the Role The Strategic Reporting team is responsible for providing a range of reporting services to ASIC's senior executive leadership and enforcement and regulatory teams.
The team is also responsible for business plan and performance reporting, including preparing information for the annual report.
The Senior Analyst is responsible for developing reporting content that provides clear links between planned activities, as set out in the portfolio budget statement and corporate plan, and actual performance outcomes reported in the annual report.
Role Accountabilities Reviewing existing performance material and identifying opportunities to ensure better alignment between ASIC's strategic priorities and performance reporting.
Developing written content for external-facing reports that provides clear links between planned activities (as set out in ASIC's portfolio budget statement and corporate plan) and actual performance outcomes reported in the annual report.
Designing and developing performance measures, and producing reports to inform executive decision making and to enable senior leaders to monitor performance and prioritise business activities.
Collaborating with team members and key stakeholders to develop new performance measures to demonstrate effectiveness/efficiency.
Preparing written insights using data drawn from different sources to identify trends, anomalies, and exceptions in performance, and present this information in high quality reports.
Applying analytical and conceptual skills to resolve problems, when undertaking data analysis and communicating findings with clarity to a range of audiences.
Maintaining, applying and developing processes and procedures for reporting, to ensure the quality and accuracy of information presented (e.g.
ensuring that reporting information is auditable).
Selection Criteria The selection criteria include the qualifications, experience and capabilities required for the role.

Qualifications and Experience A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, policy, research or relevant work experience in performance reporting and analysis gained from other government agencies and regulatory bodies.
Experience applying analytical and conceptual skills when undertaking data analysis and demonstrated ability to develop quality reporting products.
Familiarity with accessing, analysing and collating qualitative and quantitative data from disparate sources and developing insightful reports.
Ability to apply problem-solving capabilities, such as implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and collaborate with others to deliver reporting services (e.g.
Business Subject Matter Experts).
Ability to manage reporting tasks within tight timeframes and be accountable for outcomes.
Ability to understand legislative frameworks, terminology, and processes, so they are accurately represented in the data and information produced.
A baseline security clearance is required along with Australian citizenship.
