About the Role Technology plays a critical role in the delivery of AGL's strategy, helping our customers decarbonise the way they live, move and work and transitioning our generation portfolio.
Our Cloud Analytics and Data Platforms Technology team is currently on a mission to transform our data governance capabilities across AGL.

We're looking for an analyst who has experience supporting large-scale, end-to-end data governance initiatives while ensuring data assets are managed effectively and securely.
What you'll be doing Lead and execute data governance initiatives and projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project plans.
Collaborate with data stewards and business units to define and enforce data ownership, responsibilities, and accountability throughout the data lifecycle.
Identify opportunities for enhancing data governance processes, methodologies, and frameworks to drive continuous improvement and meet evolving business needs.
Investigate and resolve data-related issues, collaborating with IT support, data analysts, data governance team, and other business areas.
Ensure alignment of data governance activities with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of data governance policies, guidelines and technologies to ensure analysis, reporting, evaluation, and research activities comply with legislative and regulatory requirements and align with data governance best practices.
Assist in Developing and deliver training programs and workshops to promote data governance awareness, understanding, and adoption across AGL.
About you This role is open to mid-level or senior data governance analysts.
We're looking for candidates with experience in a similar role that have supported or led complex data governance programs and initiatives.
You are passionate about continuous improvement, upholding best practices and being across industry standards.
You have strong communication skills and have collaborated with cross-functional teams.
You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data and develop detailed reports on data governance risks, and compliance.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
Strong understanding of data modelling, data mapping and data structures.
Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data management practices, data quality best practices and industry standards.
Experience with data governance tools such as Purview, Collibra, Informatica Axon, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with data governance frameworks, such as DAMA-DMBOK.
Exposure to cloud environments i.e.
MS Azure and APIs (desirable).
