The EPA Experience See the impact in the communities we live in: at EPA you see your work first-hand Range of internal working groups, networks and volunteering opportunities On-the-job training for a wide range of environmental roles Flexible start and finish times, as well as compressed work week options About the role: You will be responsible for EPA's on-ground regulatory response in the region, including education, compliance monitoring and inspections, and managing non-compliance via regulatory notices and enforcement action. You will use your initiative to prioritise tasks and monitor workflow in delivering frontline regulatory operations, aligned to EPA's strategic priorities, to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste. In this role you will: Plan and deliver regulatory actions to prevent harm to communities and environment from pollution and waste through education and engagement, compliance monitoring and inspections, and managing non-compliance with environmental laws via regulatory notices and enforcement action. Actively participate in the conduct of investigations (under the direction of Environmental Crime Branch); and the delivery of preventative projects and compliance programs aligned to EPA's regulatory priorities. Provide support and guidance to other team members in delivering organisational priorities; contribute to the analysis, negotiation, and resolution of compliance issues; provide local intelligence to inform the development of preventative projects and compliance projects aligned to EPA's strategic regulatory priorities. Work collaboratively with co-regulators, duty holders, communities, and other partners to drive improved environmental and public health outcomes; and provide local intelligence to inform EPA's strategic regulatory priorities. Skills and experience: Demonstrated experience and a record of achievement in a relevant regulatory role (e.g. environmental regulation). Proven ability to apply relevant government legislation, regulations, reporting directives and procedures, to achieve optimal organisational outcomes. Successful completion of Authorised Officer and Field Response Officer training (on-job), or completion within a reasonable time frame from commencement in the role. Ability to be present at times and locations as required to successfully perform the role. This is usually satisfied by the possession of a current Victorian driver's licence.
