Full time ongoing position Salary range: $98,902 - $123,624 plus super plus salary packaging Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the role The Internal Legal Services (ILS) team play an important role at VLA by managing the complaints process and ensuring we follow information and transparency legislation.
As a Senior Lawyer, you will be a trusted advisor to VLA staff and managers on issues related to professional conduct and legal practice.
Your insights from handling complaints and feedback will help us improve our services making a true impact to the organisation.
In this role, you will keep up to date on statutory compliance obligations relating to privacy and freedom of information.
Your work will play an important role in protecting the privacy of our clients and staff, as well as ensuring clients can access their own information held by VLA.

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Demonstrated ability to provide high quality and fit for purpose legal advice and/or services to a range of internal clients within a public sector environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex and sensitive complaints and disputes by using evidence to achieve fair and reasonable outcomes.
Experience in implementing and evaluating new initiatives, programs or policy changes that deliver on intended results.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to foster a strong team environment.
