Corporate & Commercial Law (Legal) Government - State (Government & Defence) Salary range: $98,902 - $123,624 plus super plus salary packaging Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the role This role will involve acting as a privacy officer and freedom of information officer for VLA by providing legal advice in relation to the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2015 and the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
You will also manage privacy incidents, undertake privacy impact assessments and security risk profile assessments, draft collection notices and support in designing privacy into projects and new services.
Additionally, you will respond to freedom of information applications and other complex information requests.
This role will also play a key part of developing, implementing and evaluating frameworks, policies and processes.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Demonstrated ability to provide high quality and fit for purpose legal advice and/or services to a range of internal clients within a public sector environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex and sensitive complaints and disputes by using evidence to achieve fair and reasonable outcomes.
Experience in implementing and evaluating new initiatives, programs or policy changes that deliver on intended results.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to foster a strong team environment.
