Senior Legal Counsel - It

Our client is on a pivotal transformation journey, with a focus on placing customers at the heart of everything it does. A newly created opportunity has arisen for a commercial / IT lawyer to assist the organisation's legal function by providing strategic and commercially focused legal support with a specific focus on information technology and intellectual property related matters.
As part of a collaborative, customer focused in-house Legal team and reporting to a dynamic and supportive Chief Legal, Risk and Compliance Officer, you will play a lead role in negotiating, drafting and reviewing a range of contracts, including complex IT related contracts. You will support a culture of integrity and compliance and will provide legal advice on a range of legislation, translating complex legislative requirements into practical compliance templates. In this critical business-facing role, you will provide legal advice and collaborate with a range of stakeholders on projects relating to the modernisation of new IT systems and processes.
You will be a highly adaptable lawyer with seven plus years' experience with extensive experience in drafting and negotiating IT contracts, in particular, relating to technology change programs, ideally gained within a top tier or boutique environment and in-house. In addition, you will have superior communication skills and demonstrable experience building strong relationships and positively influencing change. This opportunity will suit a positive, team oriented lawyer with a strong "can do" attitude, with an ability to simplify complex legal and commercial problems. Hybrid working arrangement available.
