Senior Policy Advisor – Regulatory Policy Reform (multiple roles) Salary Range: $109,730 - $132,764 (Plus Superannuation) Fixed Term to 26 September 2025 Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available) Usual work location: 121 Exhibition St Melbourne (flexibility may be available) The Role Are you passionate about shaping the future of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship sector? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Policy Advisor to support a transformative project that will improve safety and quality outcomes for apprentices and trainees right across Victoria.
In this pivotal role, you will support regulatory reform projects that will enhance regulatory powers and capabilities to ensure apprentices and trainees are equipped with the skills they need to thrive in today's competitive landscape.
As a key contributor within a dedicated project team, you will support the development and implementation of innovative regulatory solutions that are not only comprehensive but also practical and effective.
Your work will play a crucial role in supporting apprentices and trainees, ensuring their experiences are of the highest quality.
You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to implement the recommendations from the Apprenticeship Taskforce's Final Report, which outlines key reforms needed to modernise the sector.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on significant reforms that will shape the experiences of apprentices and trainees who are key to Victoria's industries of the future.
We are seeking a driven Senior Policy Advisor who has some experience in regulatory policy and reform, who can deliver high-quality outcomes within project timelines.
Your expertise will be critical in developing a modern, outcome-based regulatory framework that aligns with government priorities.

Accountabilities include: Development of regulatory reform documents.
Contribute to business case documentation to secure resources for implementation of the preferred model.
Development of policy analysis and options papers to support decision-making processes and governance groups.
Research and distribution of key information to support the project objectives ensuring the strategic alignment of activities.
The Team The position of Senior Policy Advisor - Regulatory Policy Reform forms a part of the Strategic Skills Projects Branch within the Skills and Employment Group.
The Strategic Skills Projects Branch (SSP) responds to key skills and employment priorities and election commitments delivering key strategic cross cutting projects through agile project teams.
Projects include, leading the government response and implementation of the recommendations from the Apprenticeships Taskforce and development of the business case and implementation plan for the creation of the SEC Centre of Training Excellence (SEC Co TE), paving the way for its establishment. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Knowledge and experience in regulatory and legislative policy reform.
Skills in the formulation and communication of policy options and recommendations.
Stakeholder management and project management nous.
