About the role: 12 month Fixed- Term contract | Melbourne Based | Hybrid Office The Senior Pricing Analyst plays a crucial role in shaping and optimising AGL's Retail pricing strategy to drive gross margin and customer growth.
As the Senior Pricing Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering detailed financial models and business impact assessments that support pricing decisions.
This involves balancing inputs from various sources, such as distributors, transmitters, and wholesale costs, to enhance AGL's market position.
The role requires a deep understanding of pricing dynamics, providing actionable insights on pricing outcomes, and ensuring strategies align with regulatory requirements.
The Senior Pricing Analyst will develop and refine pricing frameworks, using data to predict and assess the impact of pricing decisions both before and after implementation.
Additionally, you will approach commercial challenges by analysing diverse pricing methods across customer segments, fuel types, and distribution zones, and use advanced analytical tools to support decision-making.
Ultimately, they ensure that AGL's pricing strategies are both competitive and financially sound, delivering value for the company and its customers.
What you'll be doing: Drive pricing recommendations and portfolio management to support AGL's gross margin and customer growth objectives, using advanced financial models and analytics.
Work closely with the Senior Pricing & Portfolio Manager to develop presentations, pricing papers, and cost structures, while collaborating across teams to implement pricing strategies.
Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., VDO/DMO, PEMM), and oversee the governance and quality controls for annual price changes.
Review and manage third-party cost inputs (e.g., network, metering, wholesale), assess rate changes, and ensure transparency in pricing decisions.
Oversee public notifications of new rates and prepare materials for bi-annual external audits, ensuring compliance and successful outcomes.
Participate in industry forums, stay informed about market trends, and bring competitive insights to shape AGL's pricing strategies.
About you: Previous demonstrated experience in Pricing, Finance, Product Management or similar.
Highly analytical and commercial thinker with the ability to identify trends.
Strong skills in data extraction, financial analysis and business planning.
Deep understanding of pricing strategies and strong attention to detail.
Expertise in identifying commercial opportunities and challenges, with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with support.
