About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Project Modern Workplace Engineer, Location – THQ Blackburn, VIC for a Max-Term (12 months) opportunity.
Purpose of the Role: The Senior Project Modern Workplace Engineer is a key strategic business partner within The Salvation Army Australia Territory (TSA), tasked with delivering proactive project solutions and ensuring the seamless operation of IT workplace devices.
This role supports and administers all applications and services related to modern workplace devices, directly impacting the efficiency and productivity of TSA personnel.
As a critical member of the Modern Workplace team, the Senior Project Engineer must be highly responsive to business productivity challenges and adept at delivering solutions that enhance the IT experience for all TSA staff.
The role requires exceptional customer service skills, a commitment to simplifying technical solutions, and the ability to maximize the perceived value of IT services within the organization.
Working both autonomously and collaboratively, the Senior Project Engineer will contribute to operational efficiency, share knowledge with team members, and ensure the continuous professional development of relevant technologies.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, bringing expertise in collaboration and technology to drive the success of TSA's IT initiatives.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and Maintain SOE/MOE: Create and update standard operating environments to align with modern standards, ensuring that all TSA devices are up-to-date and optimized for performance.
Manage Endpoint Operations: Oversee OS patching, application deployment, and updates using Intune/Endpoint management tools, ensuring all endpoints are secure and functional.
Support End-User Devices: Provide comprehensive support for end-user devices, including computers and mobile devices, throughout their entire lifecycle.
Microsoft Store and Office Maintenance: Ensure the seamless functionality of Microsoft Store and Microsoft Office applications, addressing any issues promptly.
User Training and Empowerment: Develop and deliver user-friendly training materials, such as manuals and technical notes, to empower end-users with the knowledge they need.
Microsoft 365 Management: Offer technical expertise in managing the Microsoft 365 platform, contributing to its design, implementation, and ongoing technical direction.
Level 3 Support: Deliver advanced (level 3) support for the modern workspace platform, resolving service requests, incidents, and problems efficiently through various communication channels.
Optimize Microsoft Teams: Enhance the Microsoft Teams platform, including its infrastructure, to meet the evolving needs of the business.
Automation and Security: Streamline workflows and improve security by implementing automation and adhering to best practices.
Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with third-party vendors and partners to ensure that all collaborations align with TSA's goals and technical requirements.
Stay Current with Emerging Technologies: Continuously monitor and assess new collaboration solutions and technologies to ensure they align with TSA's mission and future needs.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with teams to enhance and implement departmental processes and procedures, adapting to changes in technology and industry best practices.
Project Management: Define project scopes, manage vendor relationships, and leverage technical expertise to ensure projects deliver critical business outcomes and service assurance.
Education Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certifications: Certifications in cloud computing, security, networking, and ITIL V3/V4 Foundations.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Productivity (Mandatory).
Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of extensive experience in a similar role within a large organization.
Deep expertise in working with the Microsoft 365 suite, including Office, MS Teams calling/VC, Share Point, and Windows Server.
Strong experience with Intune/Endpoint Manager for managing devices and deployments.
Technical Skills: Experience in application packaging and creating standard operating environments (SOE).
Knowledge of Azure is highly regarded and will be a significant advantage.
Requirements of the role: A national police record check is required.
