They are looking for a senior quantity surveyor or Associate looking for the next challenge.
Position Summary: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our construction projects, with a particular focus on building and/or infrastructure, including rail.
Your expertise will be essential in accurately estimating costs, monitoring budgets, managing contracts, and providing effective cost control solutions.
You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that financial objectives are met while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for construction projects, considering building and/or infrastructure (rail) requirements.
Conduct thorough quantity take-offs, ensuring accurate measurement of materials, labor, and equipment.
Monitor and manage project budgets, tracking costs, and providing regular reports on financial performance.
Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including bills of quantities and contract documentation.
Collaborate with the procurement team to obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
Conduct thorough cost analysis, identifying areas for cost reduction and value engineering.
Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors, promoting their professional development.
Collaborate closely with project teams to resolve any cost-related issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
Maintain accurate records of all cost-related documentation, including variations and change orders.
Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on infrastructure (rail) projects.
In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying practices, construction methodologies, and cost control principles.
Strong experience in preparing cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender documentation.
Proficient in using industry-standard software such as Cost X, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Professional certifications, such as MRICS or equivalent, are highly desirable.
