About the Role Full Time Fixed Term until 30th June 2026 The Senior Specialist IT Contracts is responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of strategic and highly complex IT Contracts in line with the Victorian Government Purchasing Board's contract management framework and the Department of Transport contract management plans. The role requires advanced contract and vendor management capabilities to maximise the value of IT investments. We are seeking a candidate with expert knowledge of IT contract and vendor management aligned with DTP and Victorian Government guidelines, adept at clear communication with senior management and external stakeholders. Must demonstrate advanced problem-solving and negotiation skills to enhance service provider performance, develop strategic relationships, and effectively manage multiple contracts within budget and deadlines, while collaborating within a team. Position Outcomes / Accountabilities Lead the delivery of IT contracts in accordance with DTP procurement policies and Victorian Government Purchasing Board's guidelines. Develop and maintain effective performance management and reporting to ensure contracted services conform to specified requirements and that reporting addresses management and business needs. Develop and maintain effective service and contract governance arrangements, including operational management that conforms with Enterprise Technology services governance and the needs of stakeholders and customers. Develop and maintain financial/cost control arrangements for contract liability, budget planning and forecasting for the complete contract lifecycle. Negotiate with and influence vendors, service providers, internal and external stakeholders including government services groups and customers at multiple levels to improve value for money. Provide strategic advice to business customers and service providers on specialist areas of outsourced services including contract construct, service levels, ongoing service management, market insight and pricing. Provide effective leadership, people management and support to the team members while ensuring staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required. Promote and support safe, inclusive, and flexible team operations. Qualifications and Experience Mandatory • Tertiary qualification relevant to the capabilities of the role. Desirable • Extensive relevant experience within large and functionally complex organisations especially in IT contract and vendor management disciplines.• Understanding or knowledge of DTP and/or Victorian Government Purchasing Board Policy and Guidelines.
