This is a purely advisory in-house tax role with a separate compliance team.
Role Overview: As a Senior Analyst in the Tax Advisory team, you will provide critical transactional tax advice, ensuring investment structures are tax-efficient and compliant.
Collaborate closely with investment and legal teams, as well as external advisors, to protect interests and reputation.
Key Responsibilities: Tax Due Diligence: Conduct thorough reviews of proposed investment structures to minimise foreign tax leakage and mitigate reputational risks.
Advisory Role: Advise on sovereign immunity principles and monitor global tax developments affecting our investments.
Tax Structuring: Ensure compliance with local and Australian tax laws, maintaining transparency within relevant jurisdictions.
Project Management: Undertake specific projects as directed, contributing to improvements in tax governance and risk management.
Qualifications and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, law, or business; Chartered Accountant certification preferred.
Ideally, a candidate will come from a Big 4 M&A tax background.
Experience in a tax service line or corporate tax department, particularly in M&A and private market transactions.
Familiarity with international tax considerations, including inbound US corporate tax and European or UK jurisdictions.
Knowledge of sovereign wealth fund issues, particularly related to sovereign immunity and Base Erosion Profit Shifting.
