Location: South East MelbourneSalary Package: $160-180k PackageRole highlights: Hands on involvement and ownership; Join a highly respected ASX brand; Be the Tax lead across compliance, governance and strategyRole Overview Reporting to the APAC Group Head of Finance, the Seniot Tax Specialist will take full ownership for driving and leading the tax function for this organisation across Australia, and support expansion into Asia Pacific. The majority of the role will be focused on delivering tax compliance and governance and the remaining focus will be more of a strategic, project and growth focus across finance. This is a hybrid compliance and strategic role where the Senior Tax Specialist will provide leadership and advice on corporate tax policy and participate in planning the organisations activities to optimise tax costs and ensure tax compliance in line with corporate objectives. This is a hands on position to be inline to progress to a Tax Manager role; hence this person will have a healthy amount of breadth and ownership within their remit and have proven experience in guiding and managing a team. The key success factor will be your prior experience across a broad tax and financial governance remit as well as your strong business partnering skills.Responsibilities Oversee delivery of timely and accurate tax compliance for the Australian and wider APAC region. Ensure integrity of tax filings & reporting, direct and indirect taxes across the Group. Key lead in representing the organisation to the ATO for audits, appeals and negotiations Formulating, implementing and maintaining tax procedures and policies across APAC Ensure tight tax compliance whilst maintaining a commercial mind set. Employ and manage relationships with external tax professionals Tax-effect accounting, including half-year and year-end statutory financial reporting. Transfer pricing compliance, documentation and advice on internal cross border transactions including operational, group support activities and financing arrangements. Provide strategic tax advice to the business in relation to M&A Continuous Process Improvement and Financial Governance Lead process excellence through the design and implementation of appropriate systems and controls over key financial & tax processes Deliver ongoing efficiency gains from automation and/or system improvements Be an active participant to support the Finance Team's learning culture and continuous improvement mind set. Candidate ProfileYou are an experienced corporate Tax professional with extensive experience in managing an end-to-end tax function within a large APAC ASX business. You have a strong commercial lens in executing your role and are passionate about driving strategic outcomes for your organisation. Your communication skills are exceptional and you have a continuous improvement mindset.
