Tax Accountant

About the company Our client is a FMCG business based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, who are looking for immediate support within their finance team.
About the role This position is a 6-12-month contract role with the opportunity for extension.
The role is based in the Melbourne CBD area with a hybrid working model (3 days in office, 2 days from home).
As a Tax Accountant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax obligations.
Key responsibilities include: Handle both local and global tax returns, making sure everything is filed accurately and on time.
Help develop and roll out tax strategies that improve our global tax positions and support our business goals.
Review financial transactions and statements to spot any tax implications and ensure everything is reported correctly.
Be the go-to person for tax authorities, managing interactions, audits, and keeping up with changes in tax laws.
Get everything ready for audits, providing necessary documents and ensuring compliance.
Look for ways to improve our tax processes, focusing on both local and global tax practices.
About You Previous experience of at least 3 years within tax compliance.
Tertiary qualification in accounting and completed CPA/CA program.
Exposure to global tax.
Previously working for a Big 4 corporation would be desirable.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to resolve problems.
Good time management skills to meet stakeholder deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
