The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. About the role:
The Analyst, Organisational Capability and Insights delivers a service to internal customers that supports them to understand their business data and insights. They apply conceptual and analytical skills in undertaking this function and act in alignment with the Manager, Organisational Capability and Insights, to develop capability uplift across the department for data usage.
The role involves working effectively with a range of internal stakeholders, working with the other units in Organisational Effectiveness and a range of program and policy areas within the department. The team provides service across the department and works particularly closely with Health Funding, Finance and Insights and eHealth (as well as all other divisions) to obtain data and to develop data insights.
The role also involves assisting in identifying areas in the business for analysis, developing recommendations to stakeholders, and improving data collection systems to support the business and policy needs of the department.
How you'll make a difference:
Contribute to the development and implementation of business intelligence projects and practices within the People, Operations, Legal and Regulation division and more widely across the department.
Contribute to timely, accurate and high-quality data products and reports and provide advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of related data.
Use a range of tools (including Power BI) to contribute to detailed reports/visualisation, tailored to audience need, on the overall performance of the department's enabling functions.
Provide valuable advice on trends, risks and issues through detailed data analysis and investigation (where relevant by engaging with customers to gather data and data validation, and other data analytics functions), to support business need.
Deliver tasks to specified time and quality expectations in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
Contribute to advice on organisational performance, risks, trends and solutions and options for decision-making.
