As a Claims Recovery Officer, you will play a vital role in recovering outstanding claims payments from third parties and their insurers.
You will work within a fast-paced environment to ensure efficient handling of recovery claims, safeguarding Zurich's interests while providing excellent customer service.
This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of our motor claims operations.
Responsibilities include: Pursue resolution by investigating and evaluating legal liability and determining the case strategy as it relates to recovery opportunities.
Obtain and provide necessary information to the case by communicating with customers, witnesses, legal experts, and underwriters.
Bring files to successful resolution by participating/leading negotiations, arbitrations, and/or litigation.
Work collaboratively with claims adjusters, vendors, and customers.
Manage and direct vendor/supplier interaction on recovery matters, including fully outsourced files.
Effectively evaluate and resolve cases within authority in a timely manner.
Adhere to local regulatory and governance requirements throughout the life of the claim.
Manage portfolio within stated authority levels in respect to settlement, abandonment, cheque authorisation, and litigation.
Adhere to diary date, correspondence action, and referral timeframes.
Important to your success - let's grow together High School Certificate or equivalent (preferred).
Experience in a Motor Recoveries role.
General knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulations governing the General Insurance industry, including but not limited to: Insurance Contracts Act 1984.
The Civil Liability Act 2003 (PIPA).
The Privacy Act (1998).
General Insurers Code of Practice.
ACCC Debt Collection Guidelines.
Sound general knowledge of Road Laws and Legislation governing the states of Australia.
Demonstrated capabilities in the technical management aspects of all relevant Motor Claims Recoveries.
Ability to apply an operational understanding of financial and market drivers within business.
