The Opportunity The Finance Manager Risk and Governance plays a key role supporting the Head of Finance Risk and Governance, Group Financial Controller and Finance Leadership team to promote the Financial Control and Governance and Risk Management Frameworks within Finance across the Asia Pacific (APAC) Market Unit (MU).
This is a senior role responsible for assisting with the delivery of the financial control, risk, policy and governance activities within Finance, including assurance activities within the Finance Risk Assurance (FRA) plan.
This role leads one direct report.
This position is offered on an 18-month fixed term contract, based from our Melbourne office.
(Bupa offers hybrid working arrangements) How will I help? You will add value by: Acting as a trusted Finance risk advisor to develop and implement an effective Enterprise-wide Finance Risk Assurance (FRA) Plan with the Head of Finance Risk and Governance.
Executing assurance activities in accordance with the FRA Plan by designing testing plans and assisting in the oversight of the FRA team members when they are conducting testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
Ensuring Bupa establishes and operates processes to meet relevant requirements under the UK Corporate Governance code.
Partnering with all areas within Finance on all aspects of financial control and risk management, including providing education in and continued monitoring of the implementation of key elements of the Financial Control and Governance and Risk Management Frameworks such as Incident Reporting, Regulatory Change Management and identification and monitoring of legal, regulatory, contractual and policy obligations.
What do I need? You hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business and hold a CA or CPA qualification.
You have a strong understanding of accounting standards and auditing, whilst also having a strong understanding of governance, risk and quality assurance processes.
Advanced stakeholder engagement skills including experience in presenting to senior management teams.
People leadership experience, developing and coaching small teams.
A proven track record of 8-10 years' experience or more in financial accounting, external auditing or accounting advisory is preferable.
Previous work experience within the health care or health insurance industry would be highly regarded.
