Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead a team of highly experienced senior financial accountants and tax specialists with 5 direct reports.
This is a strategic role, where you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and complete financial data.

As our Financial Control Manager, you will: Support/lead in conjunction with the Financial Controller on key projects, acting as a secondary key contact.
Lead and oversee the end-to-end Wesfarmers results submission process on a monthly, half yearly and annual basis.
Ensure completion of all monthly, half yearly and year-end statutory requirements including tax calculations.
Seek to understand and fulfill strategic objectives including an emphasis on continuous improvement/automation of process, systems, control and reporting.
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and coordinate the information to be provided to auditors at Half Year and Year End.
Ensure integrity of the month-end process via the Reconciliation and Task controls.
Coordinate the month-end process with the broader team (Allocations, Variance Reporting, ECP&L Distribution etc).
Ensure accurate & timely entry of all financial data into the general ledger system and provide effective analysis, recommendations & explanation of any variances.
About you You are an experienced CA/CPA qualified, people-centric hands-on leader with a strong desire to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement with a results-oriented and solutions-focused mindset.
You will have strong technical experience with a focus on the development and growth of your team.
In addition, you will have: Strong and demonstrated leadership experience (minimum 5 years) in financial accounting related roles.
Deep expertise in accounting and tax, leading teams in a similar role ideally in a retail environment.
Excellent knowledge of technical accounting standards and processes.
Good commercial skills with the ability to Business Partner, enhance understanding and drive improvement.
Experience using SAP is essential, with BW, One Stream and/or Blackline experience being highly desirable.
An ability to present detailed information in a simple and concise manner working with stakeholders at all levels.
