Central Victorian Cardiology (CVC) is the leading private cardiology care centre in central and northern Victoria. The Central Victorian Cardiology General Practitioner role would be well suited to someone who would strive to: Work efficiently and effectively as part of a medical team with an emphasis on delivering patient centered care. Learn new skills/upskill in area of cardiology, ECG interpretation, stress testing. Manage all aspects of patient care in relation to cardiac ischaemia and arrhythmias in the procedural environment. Develop sound ECG interpretation and diagnostic skills. Develop excellent communication skills, liaising with other GPs, cardiologists, cardiac technicians and nurses, in person and via telephone. Requirements: Current drivers license Current GP provider number Fellow of RACGP Current medical insurance AHPRA registration ALS-2 accreditation. ROLE SPECIFICS Supervision of Cardiac diagnostic tests: Stress echos and stress testing in CVC clinics. Supervising Tilt Table Testing Supervising Dobutamine Stress echos Daily assessment and management of abnormal test results and unwell patients: Discuss abnormal holter monitors, stress echos and some TTEs results with CVC staff and coordinate clear path of care for patient often liaising with patient GP. Assess and manage unwell or unstable patients presenting to CVC often admitting patients to ward or transferring to BHCG. Teaching and Education Supervision of medical students, ECG interpretation, cardiovascular disease, history taking, examining patients, procedure BP, cannulation. Regular formal tutorials for regional nursing staff and medical practitioners - cardiac disease and ECG interpretation. Informal education for regional staff. Support and troubleshooting for difficult ECGs and stress echo tests to interpret and manage. Specifics of regional work Initial procedural training to be held at CVC Bendigo. Some travel will be required to regional clinics e.g., Echuca, Swan Hill.
