About the Role This is a Fixed Term, Full-time position until 13/9/2027.
Reporting to the Manager Specialist, the Inspection Officer is responsible for leading surveillance and quality assurance of transport infrastructure construction and maintenance work on the Suburban Rail Loop East project, while supporting the network interface and assurance functions.
The role coordinates the planning and implementation of risk-based site surveillance of assigned works, managing resolution of issues on site with the contractor.
Position Outcomes This role involves overseeing stage transition inspections for key infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) systems, while leading teams and escalating issues as needed.
It also includes providing expert technical advice, managing work programs, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
In addition to the prerequisite, the successful candidate must have a current valid driver licence, may be required to undertake shifts which will include Saturday, Sunday, Public Holiday, and/or afternoon/night shifts.
The successful applicant may also be required to undertake a medical and other safety compliance requirements and may need to work across different locations and projects to support the Network Integration Division.

Qualifications and Experience Mandatory Minimum 7+ years civil site surveillance experience.
Excellent understanding of road and rail requirements and constraints within a construction environment.
A relevant certification in civil construction (e.g.
Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision).
Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card.
