Senior Finance Analyst Capital Reporting Job posted: 04/09/2024 Organisation: Department of Transport and Planning Occupation: Finance Reference: 5406 Closes: 18/09/2024 Classification: VPSG5 Salary Range: $109,730 - $132,764 About the Role *This is a Fixed Term Position until August 2025 The Senior Financial Analyst – Capital Reporting will provide financial and budget management, monitoring and reporting on Capital Project budget across the Transport Services Portfolio.
Ensured the integrity of the Transport Services budget information, including reconciliation of budget information and forward estimates within information systems, and working with stakeholders to update that information as required.
Demonstrated advanced financial expertise to routinely advise/explain complex concepts, ideas and issues to senior management on complex financial issues which facilitate strategic decision making.
Undertaken the review of Ministerial submissions, funding proposals, briefings, reports and information including those for Finance Committees, and State Budget Papers, for the portfolios.
Contributed to the provision of expert on advanced financial concepts to broaden the understanding of consolidated portfolio reporting in DTP Finance.
Worked effectively with stakeholders and client areas in relation to strategic and day-to-day financial matters and through providing improved timely and accurate financial and budget information whilst increasing their financial management capability.
Performed month end financial tasks and preparation of monthly financial reports with comprehensive and insightful variance analysis and commentary of actual v budget for key stakeholders and management.
Contributed to increasing the effectiveness, efficiency, and financial management capability of the Transport Services Division.
Key Selection Criteria The DTP is seeking a candidate with excellent financial skills, including experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and providing strategic advice to senior management.
The ideal candidate will have strong conceptual and analytical abilities, attention to detail, and expertise in strategic planning.
Effective stakeholder management and exceptional written communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to delivering outstanding service excellence.
Qualifications and Experience Mandatory Specialist qualification: finance or accounting degree and/or professional qualification such as CA or CPA is highly desirable.
