About the team Corporate Services teams at Metro are responsible for providing essential support services that enable the business to function efficiently and effectively.
From Safety and People, Marketing and Communication, to Finance and Legal, and IT.
Our Corporate Services teams work collaboratively to ensure that the business operates smoothly and as one team.
About the role The Senior Finance Business Partner will support the business to drive financial outcomes by collaborating closely with key stakeholders to deliver reporting, analysis, insights and provide financial leadership and guidance to the Corporate Service Teams.
This role will also effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of Metro Train Melbourne's (MTM's) financial policies, procedures and processes and provide support to the Executive team of the Corporate Division.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Finance Business Partner include (but not limited to): Partnering with the Divisional Managers to prepare and provide excellent analysis & advice on budgets, monthly results and quarterly forecasts.
Assisting with the development, and ongoing improvement of internal control policies, procedures, systems and departmental objectives and reporting standards to protect data integrity and ensure compliance with audit requirements and sound business practices.
Liaising across Finance and the wider business to support the delivery of the Franchise Business Plan.
Supporting the Finance team, Head of Corporate Finance, Corporate divisional managers on key commercial and contractual matters.
Engaging with the Department of Transport and other external stakeholders on key commercial and contractual matters regarding the Corporate business areas.
About you You will be a highly effective communicator (strong written and verbal) with demonstrated relevant experience within Finance/Business Analyst roles.
Other key requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business or Program Management.
Demonstrated experience in business partnering and working with Senior stakeholders.
Proven analytical background.
Experience in the preparation and collation of financial information.
Experience in key accounting concepts.
Experience in implementing financial & business process changes.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to.
