We are currently looking for an experienced Tax Analyst to join our Taxation team on a maximum term role until July 2025 based at our Melbourne CBD office.
In this business-critical role, you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely indirect and direct tax compliance obligations and reporting for Citi Power and Powercor and our related entities, including our parent companies.
The ideal candidate for this role will come from a strong background in indirect/direct tax compliance – working in large corporate businesses.
In addition, this candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This is a rare, exciting, and fast-paced role, with the opportunity to work across not only Citi Power and Powercor, but our many associated entities.
In this role you will deliver: Prepare and review monthly & annual indirect tax returns (i.e.
BAS/GST returns, FBT returns, payroll tax, interest withholding tax, etc.) for the relevant tax groups and the relevant CKI related entities.
Prepare the income tax returns for the business and relevant CKI related entities.
Ensure the returns are lodged and relevant taxes are paid by the due date.
Provide assistance to the Financial Accounting Team including fixed assets reconciliation, tax effect accounting calculation for financial reporting.
Provide assistance, including collating required information for ATO risk review/audit requests.
Engage with relevant key business areas to understand the processes and the tax impact, including increasing tax awareness.
Regularly review and seek improvements on the systems, policies and processes to ensure they are efficient, effective and integrity is maintained.
To succeed in this role, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in accounting or commerce equivalent CPA or ICA qualifications are preferred Strong technical knowledge on income and indirect tax legislation Working knowledge of accounting policies, procedures and principles applicable to fixed assets.
