We are seeking a full-time Tax Specialist/Sr Tax Specialist to join our team! The preferred candidate would be located in the Wahpeton, Fergus Falls, or Fargo office, with other locations considered for the right candidate.
In this role, you will complete timely and technically accurate income tax returns for farming operations as well as owners of farmland while providing quality customer service and advice, provide consultative tax planning to customers, and team with loan officers to market financial services to new and existing customers.
If you are a team player, have a bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field, two to five years of related experience (preferred), CPA or EA certification present or willing to obtain, and a solid understanding of tax and farm records products and services, apply today and GROW your career with Ag Country! MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES Complete timely and technically accurate income tax returns for farming operations as well as owners of farmland, while providing quality customer service and advice.
Types of returns include individuals, partnerships, C Corporations, and S Corporations.
Ensure customers comply with periodic tax payments, information reporting, and other tax authority requirements when applicable.
Provide consultative tax planning to customers.
Maintain effective, responsive, and courteous communication with customers.
Team with loan officers to market our integrated package of financial services to new and existing customers, and manage new customer sales goals.
Collaborate with other tax specialists in the association to find creative solutions to meet customer needs.
Develop and maintain documented strategies for large, complex accounts in order to deliver outstanding products and service to retain accounts.
Establish networking relationships with individuals in the business and agricultural communities.
Maintain sales and market competence by participating in Ag Country sales and development training programs.
Provide tax expertise and support to branch staff in areas of tax processing, laws, and regulations.
Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge in the areas of tax and accounting.
Work with the Ag Country Education Department to expand knowledge and skills in other areas also, such as technology, sales and market techniques, all Ag Country products and services, and the agricultural industry.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field.
Zero to two years of related experience.
Sound analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Two to five years of related experience.
Agricultural background or farm tax preparation experience.
CPA/EA certification, or ability to obtain.
