Based at our Newport site and surrounded by a small, but mighty team, the critical position of Test Manager has become available.
Accountable for the delivery of Integration/Tuning and Certification/Validation tests for the X'Trapolis 2.0 project, this role ensures all activities, subject matter experts and procedures are organised and operational in the end to end testing process.
Commencing at this stage of delivery will enable the successful candidate to have ownership and input over the upcoming testing plans and become familiar with the business, before we start ramping up.
Reporting directly to the Train Validation Manager, this role enjoys autonomy and empowerment and will rely on strong organisational skills and an experienced operator, to take carriage of this key component of delivery.
Some of the key responsibilities include: Understanding, coordinating and leading all test related planning and activities before, during and after the tests.
Ensure all safety requirements, rules and procedures are adhered to and all necessary reports and associated documentation is managed.
Coordinating subject matter experts, technicians and project team members to meet time, certification and delivery requirements.
Reporting, mitigating and managing testing related issues and matters.
Applying operational knowledge to establish effective and efficient schedules, collaborating and negotiating with internal teams to ensure alignment.
Pre-empt and account for risks, issues or factors that may disrupt plans and work closely with relevant teams and stakeholders to mitigate where possible.
This role will be site-based at Newport.
It is desirable for the successful candidate to be able to travel 2 days a week to Ballarat for test activities until the first train set arrives at Newport.
Night shifts will be common to support dynamic test activities, along with alternate location starts as needed depending on the stabling location of test trains.
About you: Operational experience in the testing process, ideally with a technical background or hands-on testing experience is a fundamental component that will enable success in this role.
We are looking for a strong organiser who is solutions oriented, technically minded and if you enjoy working with a close-knit team, we think this might be an ideal fit.
With an experienced team surrounding you, we are able to consider applications at any stage of their testing career, but some operational experience is required.
