There are two Senior Advisor, School Compliance positions available: ongoing and 12-month fixed term.
About the Department The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration.
The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division The School Provision and Establishment Division is part of the Schools and Regional Services Group.
The division's responsibilities include planning to meet Victoria's growing student population and providing end-to-end support for establishing new schools, facilitating school reorganisations and delivery of place-based initiatives.
About the Role In this role you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team that works with school leaders to meet the compliance requirements set by the school education regulator, the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority.
Your responsibilities will include: Working with school leaders to develop applications for registration, and leading the review and quality assurance of applications.
Translating regulation and legislation into operational guidance to support schools and regions to meet compliance obligations.
Providing policy and compliance advice for departmental executives to address issues and risks, and lead innovative solutions for school registration projects communicated in briefings, correspondence, presentations and reports.
Building and managing relationships with stakeholders, including the VRQA and regions, to design, plan and implement compliance-related projects.
Leading the development and continuous improvement of guidance, resources and advice to support schools to comply with registration requirements.
Contributing to reporting and governance activities for school registration and compliance.
Attributes Demonstrated ability to think critically, innovatively and deliver high quality work.
Demonstrated experience or aptitude to engage with, apply and improve regulatory concepts including compliance practices.
Strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills.
Curious, a self-starter and with a passion for working as part of a team.
